Prof  (Dr.) D P Goyal joins IIM Shillong as New Director

 Prof Goyal replace Prof Amitabha De as the director of IIM Shillong.

Prof  (Dr. ) D P Goyal joins as a director at Indian Institute of Management, Shillong (IIM Shillong) in place of Prof Amitabha De. He Was the Dean of Management at Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon. Prof Goyal was appointed by the board of directors for a period of 5-years, IIM-Shillong chief administrative officer Prashant Kulkarni told PTI.

The IIM-Shillong chairperson of the Board of Governors Shishir Bajoria made the announcement officially. 

Prof. D P Goyal, with over 32 years of teaching, research and academic administrative experience to his credit, was working with MDI Gurgaon and visiting faculty at Aarhus University, Aarhus, Denmark. He was Dean-Academics at IMT Ghaziabad earlier and also Professor at Punjabi University, Patiala;and Assistant Professor (Lecturer) at Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Patiala.

An MBA from Punjabi University and PhD in Management Information Systems from Kurukshetra University, Prof Goyal received advanced training from IIM Ahmadabad, IIM Kolkata and IIT Bombay.  Prof Goyal has successfully supervised 14 PhD research scholars; published over 60 research papers in refereed national and international journals.

Indian Institute of Management Shillong (IIM Shillong or IIM-S), formerly Rajiv Gandhi Indian Institute of Management Shillong (RGIIM), is a public, fully autonomous management institute in the city of Shillong, Meghalaya. It was the 7th Indian Institute of Management to be established in India. Established in 2007. Presently IIM Shillong offers Post-Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM), Post Graduate Program for Executives – Managing Business in India and China (PGPEx – MBIC),  Fellow Programme in Management (FPM), Management Development Programme (MDP) Centre for Development of North Eastern Region (CEDNER) and Faculty Development Programme (FDP).
